Stranger No More

I came with dust upon my shoes,
A weary soul, a life confused,
A kindly hug, a stranger’s smile,
A breadth of warmth across each mile.

The roads were foreign, loud, and bright,
A thousand greets brushed past my side.
The coffee warm, the streetlights tall,
The city’s arms embraced it all.

The laughter spilled from corner clubs,
The lantern lights through streetlight bulbs,
I walked through alleys paved with song,
With strangers waved and moved it all.

Their laughter, rich like the Maple leaf,
I found my home in stolen breeze.
A bridge of care, like whispering air,
New voices wove like gentle glair.

A vendor’s smile, a nod, a glance,
A tune that hummed through chance and chance.
I feared the new, I feared the vast,
But kindness met and held me fast,

No longer lost, no longer lone,
The city Claimed me as its own
This city whispered, You belong,
And in its arms, I found my song.
